Hello! My name is Mrs. Unzueta.
This is my 7th year at Shivela Middle School, and I’m proud to be one of the 8th grade Resource Specialists here. I have the pleasure of supporting a variety of students in multiple classes, so you might see me in one or more of your classes this year!
In addition to providing support in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math, I also teach two Study Skills sections. This course is designed to help students build the tools they need to succeed in all of their core classes. Some of the key skills we focus on include:

Executive functioning

Strengthening lagging academic skills
In Study Skills, students also have dedicated time to work toward their academic goals and receive support on homework, projects, and essays.
